Marcel Boatwright has long been
interested in real estate – and his curiosity grew even brighter when he
purchased his first home – which led to an important career change, too.
“I wanted to get a much better understanding of the process and the market. And
to learn the in’s and outs of real estate,” Marcel says. “I felt as though
becoming an agent would help me in the long-run.”
He adds, “The flexibility of work hours and being your own boss also were major
incentives. But I felt as though I have something to prove to myself and others
– that even younger agents can be professional, knowledgeable and trusted to
help buyers with their biggest investment and sellers to move on to the next
chapter in their lives.”
Prior to real estate, Marcel worked extensively in the information technology
field. He also served for five years in the U.S. Army. As an agent with
Coldwell Banker Advantage in Fayetteville/Fort Bragg, N.C., named the #1 CB
franchise in North America, he is well-positioned to help military-affiliated
home buyers, sellers and investors.
“I understand what veterans and active-duty personnel deal with in their daily
lives,” he says, “and have a better understanding of how to make the real
estate process less stressful, especially in matters of relocation.”
Thanks to technology, Marcel prides himself on the ability to show properties
to clients who may be on the other side of the country – or the world. “I feel
like I understand what a lot of buyers are looking for when walking through a
home and have learned a lot of skills, so my clients can be confident when
making a purchase from afar,” he says.
When he isn’t working, Marcel enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and
their two dogs. He's also an avid reader, an “Anime nerd” and a fitness
enthusiast – CrossFit, running, swimming and kayaking, among his passions.
When asked to describe himself in five words, he doesn’t hesitate: “Caring,
resourceful, driven, intelligent and creative.”
